Welcome to the official website of the Durham Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I greet you as President for the 2012-2014 biennium. On behalf of our 258 dedicated members of the chapter, we welcome you and invite you to view our website to learn about what we are doing in the Durham community.
We are a sisterhood of college-educated women dedicated to community service. The programs and activities of the sorority are based upon Five Point Programmatic Thrust:
Since 1931, Durham Alumnae Chapter has designed and implemented several programs, activities and community service projects reflecting the Five Point Programmatic Thrust. We continue to work tirelessly to develop and implement a wide range of empowering programs and initiatives that emulate the mission of our sorority, and remain passionate about Transforming Lives and Impacting Communities.
As we embark upon our sorority’s centennial anniversary, the Durham Alumnae Chapter is committed and devoted to upholding the ideals and principles of our beloved sisterhood by continuing the legacy fostered by our twenty-two Founders nearly 100 years ago. We are proud of our rich history and our many accomplishments and pride ourselves for reflecting the theme “We are the Heart of Durham”. We will continue the work of Delta Sigma Theta by continuing our legacy into the next century by transforming lives through our commitment to provide scholarship and service excellence through sisterhood. “We are the Heart of Durham”
We “Thank You” for visiting our website and invite you to check back regularly for updates about our community service programs and projects.
In the Spirit of Sisterhood,
Gloria Alston McNeil
President, Durham Alumnae Chapter
